In front of a large home crowd West did not disappoint the ex players enjoying the hospitality of the club .West took the lead straight from the kick of with Denton catching well to move the ball to C.Edwards  who passed to pocket rocket Richardson to back himself well to blast through to touch down under the posts for Denton to convert .
West were unlucky not to add to the score from restart with Denton claiming well and a good kick by C,Moore for C.Edwards to chase well only to be tackled well short of the line.
With West having most of the play Crusaders hit back on the twentieth minute scoring a converted try against the run of play although west were guilty of missing a few tackles.
West soon hit back after quick ball out by C.Moore ,C.Edwards out to Richardson who held on to the ball well to touch down for his second of the day .Denton was unlucky with the conversion.
The half finished well with the likes of Greenwood ,Bridges Skinner Fysh and Denton all battling hard in the scrum rucks and open play. Half time 12 -7
After  a slow start to the second half west did come alive again with west slowing the ball down well the quick hands out to H.McNaught to touch down well.Denton unlucky once again with the conversion attempt .
Crusaders hit back quickly tightening the score line to 17-12 with a breakaway unconverted try.
West then changed Biggs for M.Maule whos immediate impact of great side steps quick thinking and a great hand of to R.Charles  to show good pace and thought to touch down under the posts making the conversion easy for Denton on a windy day.
West second change of S Brundle also changed the game showing great power and pace chasing and winning the ball to pass of to S.Edris to score his first senior try for the club.
Once again Brundle charged the kick well and pace and was unlucky not to score himself but when tackled passed  well to C.Edwards who was supporting well to touch down well for Denton to convert well.
Final score West 36 crusaders 12
With Crusaders unable to handle the pace of Wests young backs it must not be forgotten the hard work of Skinner Denton Bridges Fysh  and Marchant doing all the ugly work to make them look good!     But the tulip foods man of the match was William Greenwood whos 100 % display battling hard gaining valuable yards driving hard could clearly be seen at the end of season toga party as he was caught asleep twice first at a table and latter on the toilet !
